Clarence Darrow

"True patriotism hates injustice in its own land more than anywhere else."
~Clarence Darrow

An American Lawyer Born: April 18, 1857 and Died: March 13, 1938

I find this quote to be very inspiring and true.  I once said in a letter to my Father while serving in the Saudi Arabia as a Marine Radio Operator during the Gulf War, "When our country becomes blind to the truth, then we shall surely die."  The acceptance of truth and seeking it out are extremely difficult for most people of any country, but it is something we must all strive to reach.  It is always easier to point out the things that are wrong of our neighbors but not that of ourselves which is why a true patriot looks at the internal situation first before seeking to expand that view outside its borders.

Clarence Darrow is renowned for working on many Civil Liberties cases
